• Beschreibung: 5-Diazoimidazole-4-carboxamide is an inhibitor of energy metabolism. It was found that dacarbazine, a drug used to treat cancer, and 5-diazoimidazole-4-carboxamide form a reversible complex. The formation of this complex leads to the irreversible inhibition of cellular respiration and cell lysis. This drug has been shown to be effective against malignant melanoma cells in animals and can be used as a photoinitiator for polymerization. 5-Diazoimidazole-4-carboxamide has also been shown to have an inhibitory effect on blood pressure in animals.
