• Beschreibung: Dibenzo[b,f][1,4]thiazepine-11-[10H]one is a phosphorus compound that has been used for the production of chlorine and phosphorus oxychloride. This chemical is a colorless solid with a melting point of -68°C. It can be obtained through a condensation reaction between phosphorus pentachloride and chloroform. Dibenzo[b,f][1,4]thiazepine-11-[10H]one is also used in the production of fumarate and oxalyl chloride. It is often used in pollution control as it can be converted to the less harmful chloride ion by reaction with water or alkali. Chlorination reactions are also catalyzed by this chemical. The most common application of this compound is in the manufacture of chlorine gas which is used for water purification and sewage treatment.
