• Beschreibung: Diethyl propylmalonate is a lipid-soluble molecule that has been shown to have anti-cancer activity. It is synthesized by the reaction of two molecules of malonic acid and one molecule of ethyl bromoacetate in the presence of copper catalyst and diethyl ether as solvent. The resulting product is a zwitterion with both anionic and cationic moieties. Diethyl propylmalonate has been shown to inhibit pro-inflammatory cytokines and to induce apoptosis in cancer cells. This agent also binds to toll-like receptor 4 on the cell surface, which may lead to its anti-inflammatory effects.
