Beschreibung

4-(Diethylamino)-2-butyn-1-ol is a trypsin inhibitor that inhibits the action of trypsin by binding to the active site. It is used in the treatment of pancreatitis and other conditions where pancreatic enzymes are believed to be an underlying cause. This agent has been shown to possess affinity for metal ions such as Ca2+, which may be due to the presence of two ethoxy groups on its benzene ring. The 4-(diethylamino)-2-butyn-1-ol has been shown to inhibit the hydrosilation reaction, which is a process that produces polyurethanes from diisocyanates and alcohols. It also shows inhibition activity against aminopropylation, a process that produces polyurethanes from diisocyanates and amines.
