• Beschreibung: 3,3-Dimethylcyclohexanone (DMC) is a synthetic compound that is used as a feedstock in the production of plastics. It has been shown to have estrogenic properties in animal studies and may be harmful to humans. DMC is metabolized by rat liver microsomes and is also an inhibitor of glutamate pyruvate transaminase. This compound has a constant boiling point and a low density, with melting point at -4°C. The molecular modeling study suggests that DMC can form ferrite and magnesium oxide when heated, which are both non-toxic materials. DMC has not been found to affect the weight or the dry weight of rats when administered orally at doses up to 100 mg/kg.
