Beschreibung

N,N-Dimethylthioformamide is a solvent that is used in the preparation of organic compounds. It can be used to extract and purify glycol ethers from petroleum fractions. The cycloaddition process using this solvent has been shown to produce N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone, which is a precursor for the synthesis of prodrugs. N,N-Dimethylthioformamide also reacts with hydrogen chloride in an acid environment to form trifluoroacetic acid, although it does not react with hydrochloric acid. This product has been shown to have antihistamine and antiinflammatory properties, as well as a structural analysis that can be used for identification purposes.
