Beschreibung

Dapoxetine is a potent selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) that has been shown to be effective in the treatment of premature ejaculation. It is an experimental drug that is used for the treatment of depression and erectile dysfunction. The active form of dapoxetine, which has been shown to be more potent than its parent compound, is metabolized by cytochrome P450 enzymes and oxidized by cytochrome P450 enzymes. Dapoxetine can prolong the QT interval on ECG, which may lead to arrhythmias. It has also been shown that dapoxetine increases serum levels of paraxanthines and caffeine. The major side effect of dapoxetine is nausea, which usually resolves after a few weeks as the body adjusts to the medication.
