Dodemorph acetate is a synergistic compound that has been shown to be effective against mutant strains of the bacterium Pseudomonas aeruginosa. It inhibits the growth of these bacteria by inhibiting fatty acid synthesis through disruption of the enzyme systems involved in this process. Dodemorph acetate has also been shown to have a synergistic effect with other compounds, such as alkanoic acids, in the inhibition of tissue culture cells. The effective dose for this compound is not yet known and further studies are required to determine its mechanism of action.
