Beschreibung

(S)-(-)-1,2-Diaminopropane dihydrochloride is a potassium salt of 1,2-diaminopropane. It is used in the synthesis of histamine and other drugs. The condensation reaction of naphazoline with triethylamine and potassium chloride yields (S)-(-)-1,2-Diaminopropane dihydrochloride. The drug has potent antagonistic effects on H1 receptors that are mediated by histamine. This drug also reacts with chloroacetic acid to form methylated (S)-(-)-1,2-Diaminopropane dihydrochloride.
