Beschreibung

D-3,4-Dichloro phenylalanine NA is a potent and selective antagonist of tachykinin NK1 receptors. This compound has no effect on the other tachykinins such as substance P, neurokinin A, or neurokinin B. The pharmacological effects of this compound are antagonistic and inhibitory in nature. It has been shown to have an antagonistic effect on nociceptive activity in rats and mice. D-3,4-Dichloro phenylalanine NA also has a potent analgesic effect when administered intrathecally to rats with chronic constriction injury. This compound also inhibits trypsin activity at concentrations that are 10 times lower than those required for its antagonist activity against tachykinins.
