Beschreibung

Diphenyliodonium chloride is a synthetic chemical that binds to DNA and inhibits the synthesis of proteins. It also has been shown to inhibit the growth of Gram-positive bacteria, including Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and Streptococcus pneumoniae, but not Gram-negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli or Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Diphenyliodonium chloride is used in a variety of ways, including as an antimicrobial agent for the prevention of microbial contamination in pharmaceuticals and cosmetics.
