Beschreibung

4,5-Dichloro-3H-1,2-dithiol-3-one is a bacteriostatic agent that belongs to the group of hydrocarbon solvents. It is primarily used as an antifungal agent in the textile industry and as a bactericidal agent in water treatment. 4,5-Dichloro-3H-1,2-dithiol-3-one has antibacterial activity against Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria. It reacts with hypobromous acid which leads to the formation of covalent adducts that inhibit DNA synthesis and protein synthesis.
