Beschreibung

14-Deoxy-11,12-didehydroandrographolide is a bioactive compound that belongs to the group of andrographolides. It has been shown to have significant cytotoxicity against HL-60 cells and induces apoptosis in these cells. 14-Deoxy-11,12-didehydroandrographolide also has antiinflammatory activity and binding affinity for the response element (ARE), which is a DNA sequence that regulates gene expression. This compound may be useful for treating bowel diseases such as ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease because it inhibits inflammatory responses in these conditions. 14-Deoxy-11,12-didehydroandrographolide can also bind to mitochondrial membranes, preventing them from breaking down and leading to cell death.
