• Beschreibung: 2,4-Dimethoxy-4'-hydroxybenzophenone is a pentafluorophenyl reagent that can be used in peptide synthesis. 2,4-Dimethoxy-4'-hydroxybenzophenone reacts with 4-hydroxybenzoic acid to form an intermediate that reacts with chloride ion to produce the corresponding chlorohydrin. The chlorohydrin is then hydrolyzed by the addition of butanoic acid and nitric acid to form the corresponding amide. Carbodiimide hydrochloride is then added to the amide to produce a urea which can be reacted with butyric acid and cyanuric chloride to form a polymeric n-oxide. This compound also functions as a ligand for copper ions and has been shown to react with ruthenium metal in a n-oxide reaction, forming a polymeric ruthenium complex.
