Beschreibung

1,2-Distearoyl-rac-glycero-3-phosphocholine is a sodium salt of the fatty acid 1,2-dipalmitoyl-rac-glycero-3-phosphocholine. It has been used in biological studies as a model system for intermolecular hydrogen bonding and phase transition temperature. It has also been shown to form liposomes that are permeable to epidermal growth factor. This lipid has pharmacokinetic properties in humans, and has been shown to be a component of human serum with biological properties. The constant pressure melting point of this lipid is 84°C.
