Produktinformation
- 4-Dimethylamino-butyraldehyde
- 4-Dimethylamino-Butyraldehyde
4-(Dimethylamino)butanal is an impurity that is found in the synthesis of amide ester hydrochlorides. It is a white, crystalline solid. The synthetic process for this compound starts with the reaction of ethyl orthoformate and 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT). This reaction produces 4-(dimethylamino)butanal and 2,4-dihydroxyacetophenone. The amide ester hydrochlorides are then obtained by reacting 4-(dimethylamino)butanal with a base such as triethylamine or pyridine. 4-(Dimethylamino)butanal has been shown to have affinity for 5-ht1 receptors, which are found in the brain and gastrointestinal tract.
