Beschreibung

4,4'-Dimethoxychalcone is a molecule that is structurally similar to chalcone. It has been shown to induce autophagy in microglia cells and in vitro. This process involves the degradation of cytosol proteins by lysosomes, which are cellular structures that contain hydrolytic enzymes. This leads to an increase in the number of autophagosomes, which are vesicles that contain waste products and organelles surrounded by a double membrane. 4,4'-Dimethoxychalcone also has antimicrobial effects against P. aeruginosa, including vibrational and electrochemical methods for identifying its molecular targets. The molecular targets include gyrase, topoisomerase IV, DNA polymerase III holoenzyme (PolIII), and RNA polymerase II holoenzyme (PolII). 4,4'-Dimethoxychalcone may have a protective effect on humans against physiological functions such as autophagy and protein synthesis.
