• Beschreibung: N,N'-Diphenylethylenediamine (DPEN) is a quaternary ammonium compound that possesses anti-inflammatory activity. DPEN inhibits the production of prostaglandin E2, which has been shown to be involved in prostate cancer cell growth and proliferation. This drug binds to receptors on the cell surface and blocks the binding of dopamine, leading to an increase in intracellular levels of cAMP, which is a second messenger for hormones. The drug also has genotoxic effects, such as DNA strand breaks and chromosomal aberrations. DPEN can bind to nitrogen atoms and form hydrogen bonds with other molecules such as hydrochloric acid. The drug also emits nitric oxide (NO), sulfur dioxide (SO2), nitrous oxide (N2O), and ammonia (NH3). The emission rates are dependent on pH levels.
