Beschreibung

1-[(4R,5R)-4,5-Dihydroxy-L-ornithine]echinocandin B is an antifungal drug that belongs to the class of echinocandins. It has a broad spectrum of activity against filamentous fungi and yeasts. Echinocandins inhibit the synthesis of β-(1→3) glucan in the fungal cell wall by binding to the enzyme 1,3-β-(1→3)-glucan synthase. The drug is resistant to deacetylation by acetohydroxyacid synthase and therefore does not require activation with glucose-6-phosphate. This product is soluble in water and can be used for phase chromatography on a C18 column with a mobile phase of methanol/water (80/20).
