Beschreibung

2,2-Diethoxyacetophenone is a potential anticancer drug that has the ability to bind DNA and inhibit protein synthesis. It inhibits the activity of cinchonidine, which is a rate-limiting enzyme in the synthesis of glycol esters. 2,2-Diethoxyacetophenone has been shown to be cytotoxic against cancer cells in vitro and may have synergistic effects when used with other drugs. The cytotoxicity exhibited by this compound was confirmed using gel chromatography and gel matrix experiments. The mechanism for cytotoxicity may be due to its ability to inhibit protein synthesis.
