Beschreibung

2,6-Dimethyl-4-tert-butylphenylacetonitrile is a low molecular weight compound that is soluble in water. It has been shown to inhibit β-glucosidase, an enzyme found in bacteria and plants. The inhibition of β-glucosidase by 2,6-dimethyl-4-tert-butylphenylacetonitrile prevents the hydrolysis of glycosides, preventing the release of aglycones from glycosides. This inhibition could be useful for inhibiting bacterial growth and for deglycosylating ginsenoside.
