Beschreibung:20-COOH-ltb4 is a fatty acid that has been shown to induce chemotaxis in polymorphonuclear leucocytes, which are white blood cells involved in the body's defense against infection. It also induces cell lysis and eosinophil peroxidase activity, which are both proinflammatory responses. 20-COOH-ltb4 has been shown to induce inflammatory bowel disease in rats by inducing the release of reactive oxygen species that cause injury to the colonic epithelium. In addition, 20-COOH-ltb4 has been shown to be effective against bowel disease in mice. This compound binds to the cytosolic protein and inhibits its function by preventing ATP production. 20-COOH-ltb4 also inhibits protein synthesis by binding to adenine nucleotide and diazonium salt.
