Produktinformation
Racemic bendroflumethiazide is a diuretic drug that is used to treat hypertension. It is the racemate of two enantiomers; the d-enantiomer inhibits angiotensin II, while the l-enantiomer has no effect on this hormone. The analytical method for racemic bendroflumethiazide consists of an expressed calibration curve and a subsequent spectrometric analysis. The calibration curve can be obtained by adding increasing amounts of racemic bendroflumethiazide to a mixture of acetonitrile and water, which are then evaporated to dryness. The residue is dissolved in methanol and analysed by mass spectrometry. Racemic bendroflumethiazide can be monitored with the use of an evaporation system due to its volatility.
