• Beschreibung: Alpha-endorphin is a peptide hormone that has been shown to have physiological effects on the body. It has been shown to increase body mass index (BMI) and has been associated with kappa-opioid receptors. Alpha-endorphin may also be involved in antibody response, as well as regulation of peptide hormones. Alpha-endorphin is induced by infectious diseases and has also been shown to inhibit the growth of cancerous cells, such as K562 cells. Alpha-endorphin can also stimulate the production of colony stimulating factor, which helps regulate white blood cell production in the bone marrow. This hormone may have an effect on brain functions, such as locomotor activity and nucleotide levels in the brain.
