• Beschreibung: Ethyl 3-(dimethylamino)acrylate (EDMA) is a liquid amide that has potent inhibitory activity against the chloride ion. EDMA is reactive and can form an adduct with the chloride ion. Molecular modeling studies have shown that EDMA binds to the cap-dependent endonuclease domain of the protein, inhibiting dioxime formation and DNA synthesis in bacteria. The β-unsaturated ketones in EDMA are also antibacterial. This compound has been found to be efficient at reducing oxalyl levels, which may be due to its ability to react with oxalate ions.
