3-Ethyladamantane-1-carboxylic acid is a hydroxy naphthenic acid that is used as a raw material for the manufacture of esters and amides. 3-Ethyladamantane-1-carboxylic acid is produced by the decarbonylation of 2,2,3,3-tetramethylcyclopentanediol.
