Beschreibung

Ethyl 5-(aminomethyl)-2-furoate hydrochloride is a quaternary ammonium salt that is used as an antiseptic and disinfectant. It has been shown to be effective against bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Escherichia coli. Ethyl 5-(aminomethyl)-2-furoate hydrochloride is soluble in water, chloroform, ether, and sulfuric acid. The pH of a solution of this compound can range from 2 to 10. It has been shown to be stable at room temperature for up to one year in sealed containers. This compound is also soluble in organic solvents such as ethyl acetate, but not in hexane or heptane.
