Beschreibung

Tadalafil is a PDE5 inhibitor that is used to treat male erectile dysfunction (ED). It inhibits the activity of phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5), which is an enzyme that breaks down cGMP. This inhibition leads to increased levels of cGMP, which helps to relax muscles in the penis and allows for an erection. Tadalafil has been shown to be effective for up to 36 hours, with a concentration-time curve showing a peak at about 2 hours after administration. Tadalafil is metabolized by CYP3A4, with its primary metabolites being 2-hydroxy-tadalafil and 3-hydroxy-tadalafil. The drug also has anti-inflammatory properties and can cause vasodilation of blood vessels.
