Beschreibung

1-Ethyl-1,2-dihydro-6-hydroxy-4-methyl-2-oxo-3-benzoylpyridine has a ring structure and is a cationic surfactant. This compound is used as an intermediate in the synthesis of photocatalysts for water treatment. It is also used as a ligand for the synthesis of catalysts for organic syntheses. 1E1D6HMOP binds calcium ions and quaternary ammonium compounds to form complexes that are active in organic chemistry. The complex with piperazine can be activated by light to form reactive oxygen species (ROS) that are useful for water disinfection. 1E1D6HMOP can be used as an inorganic base or as an inorganic acid because it does not react with either metal hydroxides or metal oxides, which makes it useful in the synthesis of ligands.
