Ethylcyclobutanecarboxylate is an organic compound that is used as a drug for the treatment of cancer. It has been shown to inhibit cholesterol ester transfer and has been used in the treatment of pancreatitis, autoimmune diseases, dyslipoproteinemia, and inflammatory diseases. This drug has been shown to reduce insulin resistance and can be used as a treatment for diabetes-associated complications. Ethylcyclobutanecarboxylate is also metabolized into a pharmacologically active form by cb2 receptor. The biological samples that have been studied include plasma and urine; however, it can also be detected in other types of tissue such as brain, stomach, and kidney.
