Beschreibung

Ethyl 2-bromobenzoate is a biphenyl derivative that has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties. It inhibits the production of chemokines, which are inflammatory proteins that mediate the progression and severity of inflammatory diseases. The mechanism of action is not clear, but it may be due to steric interactions with the chemokine receptors or cross-coupling with the receptors. The ability to inhibit chemokine production may be due to its effect on serine protease activity, which is necessary for the activation of chemokines. Ethyl 2-bromobenzoate also has light emitting properties, which may be related to its ability to generate singlet oxygen at a wavelength of 490 nm when irradiated by light with a wavelength of 365 nm.
