• Beschreibung: 2-Ethylhexyl thioglycolate is a maleate used as a polymerization initiator for the production of polyvinyl chloride. It is also used to improve the viscosity of calcium carbonate in paper making, and as an additive in dibutyl phthalate. 2-Ethylhexyl thioglycolate has been shown to cause epithelial damage on the corneal epithelium in animal experiments. This chemical also reduces the hydrophobic effect of polyvinyl chloride, which causes hydrolysis by water molecules.
