Beschreibung:Emixustat is a chemical inhibitor that inhibits the activity of the cation channel TRPM1. TRPM1 is expressed in choroidal neovascularization and proliferative diabetic retinopathy. It also has shown potential as a diagnostic agent for these eye disorders. Emixustat has been shown to inhibit the production of growth factors, which may be a cause for its therapeutic effect in both congenital amaurosis and growth factor-related eye disorders. Emixustat is an investigational drug that has not been approved by the FDA yet, but it is currently in phase III clinical trials.
