Produktinformation
- 4-[(2R)-2-Hydroxy-3-[(1-methylethyl)amino]propoxy]benzenepropanoic acid methyl ester hydrochloride
(R)-Esmolol hydrochloride is an optical isomer that has been used in the industrial production of methyl propionate and isopropyl chloride. It was also used as a pharmaceutical drug to treat cardiac arrhythmias and hypertension. (R)-Esmolol hydrochloride has an optical rotation of +25°. The salt form of esmolol hydrochloride is water-soluble, while its free base form is not water-soluble. The esmolel can be synthesized by reacting methylamine with propionic acid, followed by chlorination. This reaction produces a product with an alkoxide group, which reacts with ethyl alcohol to produce an esmolol hydrochloride salt.
