• Beschreibung: D-Ethyl gonendione is a metabolite of the sex hormones testosterone and estrogen. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of anisopliae and metarhizium by reducing their uptake. D-Ethyl gonendione also inhibits the growth of pastoris and microbial transformation as well as inhibiting the uptake of solubilized compounds. The compound has been shown to be metabolized through a number of metabolic transformations, including hydroxylation by cytochrome p450 enzymes, which is necessary for its activity as a contraceptive. D-Ethyl gonendione also binds to DNA, specifically to dinucleotide phosphate, which may account for some of its activity.
