Beschreibung:
2-Ethyl-5,7-dimethyl-3H-imidazo[4,5-b]pyridine is a chemical compound that has been shown to have a high yield of propionic acid from the reaction of acetylacetone and hydrogen. The synthesis of this chemical is achieved through the catalytic hydrogenation of pyridine rings in propionitrile. This process produces a new ring system with a 2-ethyl and 7-dimethyl substituent on the 3 position of the pyridine ring.
