Beschreibung

Ethynylestradiol is a synthetic estrogen that is used in hormone replacement therapy. It belongs to the group of estrogens and has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of ovarian activity. Ethinyl estradiol is metabolized through catechol-O-methyltransferase (COMT) and sulfotransferases, which leads to an increased rate constant for its clearance from plasma.
