Beschreibung

Eribulin mesylate is a drug that inhibits the growth of cancer cells. It is a synthetic taxane that binds to and prevents the function of topoisomerase I, which is essential for DNA replication, transcription, and cell division. Eribulin mesylate has been shown to be effective in treating breast cancer and platinum-resistant ovarian cancer. The side-effect profiles of this drug are low when compared with other chemotherapeutic agents because it does not have a significant effect on the central nervous system or bone marrow. Eribulin mesylate also has potential as a biomarker for assessing treatment efficacy and resistance to chemotherapy in solid tumours.
