• Beschreibung: Ethyl N-hydroxyacetimidate is an organic solvent that is used in the synthesis of dopamine. It can be employed for the reduction of a variety of benzaldehydes to alcohols, including borohydride reduction. Ethyl N-hydroxyacetimidate has been shown to inhibit dopamine β-hydroxylase and molecular modeling studies have shown that it interacts with the active site of this enzyme. This inhibition may be due to its ability to alkylate the enzyme's sulfhydryl group, leading to decreased activity. In addition, ethyl N-hydroxyacetimidate inhibits leishmania by interfering with disulfide bond formation and conjugate release in the parasite’s cell membrane.
