• Beschreibung: 1,2-Epoxy octane is a colorless liquid that is soluble in water. It has a low reactivity and can be used as an inhibitor of phosphotungstic acid. The reaction mechanism is based on the oxidation of 1,2-epoxy octane by supercritical CO2 to form epoxide and hydroxyl group. The hydroxyl group then reacts with phosphotungstic acid to form a redox potential that inhibits the reaction. This reaction can be catalyzed by metal oxide or solid catalyst such as alumina and silica gel. 1,2-Epoxy octane also has inhibitory effects on rat liver microsomes, hydrogen bonds with trifluoroacetic acid, and reacts with dioxygen to form oxidized products.
