Beschreibung:Ethyl methyl sulphide is a diagnostic agent that is used to detect the presence of methyl ethyl. It binds to the receptor for fatty acid and can be used in the diagnosis of metabolic disorders such as diabetes, pancreatitis, and selenium deficiency. Ethyl methyl sulphide also inhibits sodium carbonate-induced pancreatitis in rats. The mechanism by which this occurs is not known but it has been shown that it may inhibit molecules that are involved in the disease process. Ethyl methyl sulphide has been shown to bind to monoclonal antibodies against rat liver microsomes, suggesting that it may be useful as a model system for studying these receptors.
