Ethyl 4-acetoxy-6,7-difluoro-2-(ethylthio)Quinoline-3-carboxylate is a synthetic molecule that was synthesized by intramolecular cyclization reaction. It is a quinoline carboxylic acid derivative and belongs to the group of intramolecular cyclization compounds. The synthesis of this molecule starts with 2,4,5-trifluorobenzoic acid and ethyl acetate. Attack on the ester group yields the corresponding alcohol which undergoes deacetylation to give 4-acetoxy-6,7-difluoroquinoline 3-carboxylic acid. Chlorination of this compound with lithium chloride gives ethyl 4-acetoxy 6,7 difluoro 2-(ethylthio) quinoline 3 carboxylate in high yield.
