It is used as an implantable material and polymerization initiator in the manufacture of polymeric matrices for diagnostic agents, such as cresyl violet acetate, chondroitin sulfate, and corneal surface particles. Ethyl Eosin can be used to treat chemotherapeutic treatments by attaching to human serum proteins and forming complexes that are able to penetrate tumor cells.
