Beschreibung

Ethyl (2,3,4,5-tetrafluorobenzoyl)acetate is a new oxazine derivative that inhibits bacterial growth by binding to the DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV. It also exhibits antibacterial activity against Gram-positive bacteria such as methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). This compound is an analog of the quinolone antibacterials. The most efficient example of this class of compounds is ofloxacin.
