Beschreibung

Eriocitrin is a natural product that has been found to have strong anti-inflammatory properties. The molecular docking analysis of the structure of eriocitrin with COX-2 revealed that it binds to the active site of COX-2, thereby inhibiting its activity. In vitro and in vivo studies have shown that eriocitrin can inhibit the matrix effect in colon cells. Eriocitrin also prevents oxidative injury and anion radical scavenging by interacting with reactive oxygen species (ROS) and reactive nitrogen species (RNS). These effects are due to the presence of caffeic acids and other phenolic compounds in eriocitrin. Eriocitrin has been shown to be safe for human use, with no significant side effects reported. It has also been shown to be well absorbed in humans without any interference from food or drugs.
