Produktinformation
- Epinapelline, 12-
12-epinapelline is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug that belongs to the group of fatty acids. It is a napelline alkaloid with a long history of use in traditional medicine for the treatment of pain and inflammation. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs inhibit prostaglandin synthesis by blocking cyclooxygenase, which is an enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of arachidonic acid into prostaglandins. 12-epinapelline has been shown to have pluripotent activity and can be used in the treatment of cancers due to its ability to induce apoptosis. Structural analysis has shown that 12-epinapelline contains a skeleton with two phenolic acid substituents and a diterpenoid alkaloid moiety. This molecule also contains a hydrochloric acid substituent, which may make it susceptible to chemical pesticides.
