• Beschreibung: Hydroxyfasudil is a drug that belongs to the group of drugs called macrophage-derived growth factor (MDGF) mimetics. It is a small molecule that can be used for the treatment of eye disorders, such as macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy, and also for the treatment of other disorders, such as primary pulmonary hypertension and kidney fibrosis. Hydroxyfasudil binds to the protein receptor CD47 on blood cells to inhibit inflammation in mice with an inflammatory response. The drug has been shown to reduce levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines, such as IL-1β and TNFα, in mice with LPS-induced inflammatory responses. Hydroxyfasudil also inhibits pro-inflammatory cytokine production by LPS in human monocytes and blocks T cell proliferation induced by LPS in vitro.
