Beschreibung:2-Furonitrile is a carbonyl group with an electron-withdrawing group. The compound interacts with nucleophilic molecules, such as hydroxide ions, by donating its electron-withdrawing group and forming a coordination complex. 2-Furonitrile also has a high affinity for acidic environments. The compound reacts readily with electron reducing agents to form furfural during the course of the reaction.
