Fluoxymesterone is a chloroformate that is used as an inhalant to treat erectile dysfunction. It is also used as a stimulant and for the treatment of cardiovascular disorders, sulfoxide, and antiarrhythmic. Fluoxymesterone has been shown to stimulate soluble guanylate cyclase in the heart, which leads to increased levels of cGMP and vasodilation. It also inhibits methylation reactions, leading to decreased production of homocysteine. This drug has been proven effective in the treatment of osteopathic hypotension.
