Beschreibung:For-Met-Leu-Phe-Phe-OH is a putative antiinflammatory agent that has been shown to inhibit the production of c-reactive protein, which is an acute phase reactant. It also inhibits chemotaxis and degranulation in leukocytes. This drug has been shown to have a constant activity against bacterial infections, but it is not yet known whether this activity is due to its antiinflammatory properties or other modes of action. For-Met-Leu-Phe-Phe-OH binds to phosphatidylinositol 3 kinase and inhibits receptor binding in neutrophils and monocytes, which may be responsible for its chemotactic effects.
